Yes, we do have rules.  Not very many, but just the same, we do.

You can print them out and give them to your team if you wish.


1.       This is a fun league:  no drama please!

2.       Each team has as many members as they wish. 

3.       However, everyone must play! (No play, no fun!)

4.       Each team plays one  match within about a week time frame.

5.       The two captains arrange the day/time.  We hope everyone will play the majority of their matches at the high school.  If the captains can coordinate so that 4 teams play at once, it would be more fun.   The more the merrier.  (See rule 2.)

6.       A match consists of 2 doubles courts and 1 singles court. 

7.       The match format is 2 out of 3 tie-break sets, with the 3rd set being a championship tiebreak.  This means the first 2 sets play a 7-point tiebreak at 6 games all to decide the set.  Then play a 10-point tiebreak to decide who is the winner.  Play out all the deuces in the first 2 sets.

8.       One team is designated ‘home’ each week and supplies the balls for the match, and lets me know which team won the match.  No need to tell me the scores, that’s too much information.

9.       Since we have so many people on some of the teams, those captains may want to have 2 matches in a given week so that all their members get to play.  That’s up to you, if you want to do it.  (See rule 1.)  The other option is recruit another captain or two and break up the existing teams so every team has about 10 players.  We’ll see how it goes and make any changes as needed.

10.   Come to the kick-off social on July 11th at Cranmore. 

11.   Have fun.  (See rule 1.)  Complaining and whining are strictly prohibited.
